Fantastic Photoshoot Locations - Sydney

Trying to decide on the location for your Photo Shoot?

Here are some great Locations in Sydney:

Lavender Bay

Lavender Bay is located 3 kilometres north of the city. It lies between Milsons Point and McMahons Point. Lavender Bay offers expansive views of the Sydney Harbor Bridge. There are some great old walls, tunnels and gardens all surround the area. It is certainly one of our top choices especially if your wedding reception is located in Mosman, Manly etc. There is no need to cross over the bridge which can at times get quite busy. We always create fantastic images at this location!
Strong Points:  No fee necessary, Close to city while not as busy, City views, good backgrounds even in the wet.
Downside: Can get busy with other weddings, Parking can be difficult.

Kelly’s Bush, Woolwich

For those that seek a peaceful location surrounded by beautiful water views and a park like setting Kelly’s Bush is your ideal location situated away from all the hussle and bussle of the city.
Once you arrive there is a nice parking area which is just perfect for shots with the cars.
We have never had another wedding at this location simultaneously. This is not a very popular location for weddings (yet!). All our great couples love this location!

Sydney University

Located within the impressive grounds of The University of Sydney and just minutes from the CBD. This unique venue is set on 72 hectares of immaculate landscaped and tree covered parkland which provides the perfect setting for Wedding ceremonies, receptions and photography.
The Venue Collection offers unique venues that are ideal for your special day, ranging from elegant heritage dining rooms to innovative and contemporary venues with capacities suitable for both intimate and large Weddings. With so many stunning backgrounds we have shot multiple award winning images  at this top location. Sydney University is also very good on wet days ensuring your Wedding day is truly memorable.
Strong Points: Easy parking, beautiful backdrops, shade, ideal for wet days, public toilets, close to CBD.
Downside: Fee required.

The Rocks, Sydney

The Rocks, Sydney is an urban locality, tourist precinct and historic area of Sydney’s city centre, located on the southern shore of Sydney Harbour.
The close proximity to Circular Quay and the views of the iconic Harbour Bridge, as well as the historic nature of many of the buildings, makes the Rocks certainly one of Sydney’s most popular destinations for wedding photos.
The Rocks offers great backdrops such as alley ways, wharfs and sand stone walls. It also has two separate pubs which claim to be Sydney’s oldest surviving pubs: the Fortune of War and the Lord Nelson. Others in the area include the Observer, the Orient, the Mercantile, the Palisade and the Hero of Waterloo.
The Rocks is one of the most popular areas for wedding photos in Sydney and not without good reason.
Strong Points: No fee, less traffic than CBD, Great variety of backdrops, Surrounded by water views, good in wet weather.
Downside: No or very little green areas.

Martin Place

Martin Place has a large collection of buildings of various styles, from neo-classical to contemporary. Notable buildings include The Sydney General Post Office located at the western end of Martin Place, between George and Pitt Streets. Designed by colonial architect James Barnet, the building features a neo-classical sandstone facade, with a colonnade running around the building at street level. Above the centre of the 100-metre Martin Place facade is the clock tower. This building was the headquarters of the NSW postal system until 1996, when it was sold and refurbished. The building now contains shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars. The Westin hotel and Macquarie Bank office towers stand in the former courtyard, now converted into an atrium
You’ll find many interesting backdrops at Martin Place including large old doors, Grand staircases and much more. No wonder it is one of Sydney’s wedding photo hot spots.
Strong Points: No fee, wonderful backdrops and stairs and arches, Top location in wet weather.
Downside: Parking can be very difficult, Often crowded, Occasional events, Multiple weddings.

Taronga Zoo, Mosman

Couples can unleash their inner animal by posing with exotic species at Taronga Zoo. “It’s the only place in Sydney that offers the ability to include wild animals in your photo shoot, adding a unique element to any wedding.

Centennial Park

Consisting of 189 hectares of parkland and featuring formal gardens, ponds, fig and oak trees, as well as historic buildings, Centennial Park provides a multitude of wedding photo opportunities. It offers idyllic natural landscape, from pine forest trees to ponds and endless grassland — perfect for any wedding backdrop.

Gledswood Winery

This venue offers the perfect country setting for your wedding day. Couples can relax here and enjoy the fresh air. The property also has many interesting old buildings.

Camelot, Kirkham

This romantic 19th-century homestead near the suburb of Camden features stunning architectural elements that add a vintage look to wedding photos — from chimney stacks to gables, arched verandahs and extensive period gardens.

Hopefully these give you a few options to start looking into - although when it comes to a beautiful city like Sydney, they're just the tip of the iceberg!

Take care, and Happy Planning
Ryan
